Today's Video Share: Color The Air by Magen Tracy

Magen Tracy & the Missed Connections, from Boston, MA, combines soulful vocals, poignant songwriting, and piano-driven pop-rock with a dash of sleazy swagger and alt-country twang. Their new video, “Color the Air”, features the dance and choreography of Whitney Hoke, and was recently nominated for the Boston Music Awards 2017 Video of the Year (Unsigned Artist).

“Color the Air” is, at its core, a song about loss; an older, long-ago loss–the one you're supposed to be over but that creeps in when you let your guard down. More than that, though, it's about the way artists take losses and lean into them, turning them into something performative. It's about the process of mining older pain, and the moments when you've created something that moves someone else. Whether you are dancing for yourself or playing to a room of people, you're reliving those moments of sadness not to wallow in them, but to transform them into something universal. At its best, this is what art can do, for the creators and the audience.

Today's Video Share: Stay Strong by Pam Schwetz

Stay Strong was created completely using synth pop loops on musicmakerjam with my magix musicmaker premium...I usually just mess around with instrumental loops but I liked the lyrics and how these vocals sounded so I used the vocal loops too in this one. I used free video clips from this great site called pixabay where I grab lots of free cool video clips for my music videos. It is my latest music video so am sharing that one with you here now. It is part of my lyrics playlist...I also have an instrumental playlist with lots of cool videos mostly created with either musicmakerjam or magix musicmaker or iamthedjapp...check my pinned tweet on twitter for all my online music and poetry sites you can check out. I love lots of different types of music so you never know what to expect from me. Enjoy!

Today's Video Share: Fairy Tales by Eline Chavez

The driving desire behind this video was simple, I wanted to help give a voice to the voiceless. My name is Eline and once upon a time, I was all of them. I felt alone, misunderstood, and was picked on or made fun of...I wanted all those that felt that way to know that I was in their corner. I wanted them to know that they were not alone and that I was rooting for them. I wanted them to know that there are a lot of people who care about them and want to see them shine.

Today's Video Share: Unbreakable by Jennifer McGill

Unbreakable was filmed just outside Las Vegas NV because the crashed plane and desert seemed like the perfect backdrop to illustrate the idea of what it looks like to be Unbreakable. The song was written with the idea of surviving a real fight on a battlefield and when it is over, you realize you and the others with you are still standing. Having images that convey strength and determination were key.

Today's Video Share: The One by Alya Elouissi

Alya Elouissi, Slovenian actress and singer-songwriter based in London, is already creating a buzz with her debut single The One, an inspiring and touching piano pop ballad that has been lyrically and musically written and co-produced by Alya herself.  Taking inspirations from her experience on personal growth, self esteem and life, Alya's aim is to deliver her message of love and life to everyone.  Compelling lyrics, narrative and delightful melodies are displayed in her creative performances.

She started singing in choirs and progressed with vocal coaching and songwriting at the age of 11 which helped her to develop her unique voice, broad vocal range and excellent stage presence. Her independent move to London as a teenager opened doors for Alya and her musical exposure has evolutionised her writing style.

Alya is already making a name for herself in the UK music scene, having performed with Rita Ora and at big London venues such as the O2.

"My music and lyrics are created with the aim to be truly meaningful, memorable and inspiring. When I started singing as a child, I discovered another a passion for songwriting as well. With songwriting I can additionally express myself, my thoughts and messages I want to deliver. My writing style has really developed when I independently moved to London and was going through many life struggles, daily challenges... in my interior and exterior world.

Every single time I sing The One, I just transport to a different dimension of myself where I'm completely determined and inspired to really be the one... that always carries on, that guides with my light on, that knows and shows the most and best of me, everyday. And it is a great pleasure passing this message on to everybody."

Today's Video Share: How She Runs by MeMe Detroit

" How she runs" is the brand new single by MeMe Detroit. When approached by director Steven Murphy to pen an 'eighties feel' track for his film, "My Saviour", the indie-grunge girl set to the challenge.

'How she runs' beautifully weaves a tale of lust, love and fear of rejection. Working as a DJ, MeMe took inspiration from witnessing the UK nightlife from outside/inside the DJ booth.

MeMe:  "I see it all the time. That moment in the club when  someone notices someone else, that instant attraction. Some just dive straight in, others (and I've been guilty of this in the past) take the whole night to pluck up the courage to speak to them and then sometimes never do, leaving them with just a dream of what could have been."

How she runs" is out now on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and more...

Today's Video Share: Village People by Tina Smith

Tina Smith released her fourth album, AWAKE, on July 10th. Available worldwide, the album features songs written and composed by Tina Smith, as well as two covers, Wild Horses and Higher.
Village People is a rowdy call to unity, a "come together" anthem, a much-needed voice of reason in the oftentimes fractured society in which we live. On top of that, it's fun and upbeat and will make you move!
