Today's Video Share: Your Quest by Sandi Siegel

Today's Video Share: Take it Higher by Amber Norgaard

Amber Norgaard wrote the song and created the “Take It Higher” music video for the Multanen Legacy Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund provides educational assistance to students in financial need who have endured hardship, trauma and struggle and want to rebuild their lives through education. The foundation is based upon the Finnish concept of "sisu" - a value that means forging on despite the odds, keeping hope alive no matter how dire the circumstance, and tapping into the power of the human spirit to do what honors the greatest good - ultimately, to prevail in the best way possible. Often this prevailing surpasses perceived limitations and opens new doorways to empowerment and living fully. Students who receive assistance display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others, and the core value of SISU - tenacity and perseverance amidst difficult circumstance.

Today's Video Share: At The Bottom of The Garden by Anna Durkacz and The Professors of Logic

Art

This is me singing my song, At the Bottom of the Garden, with my band The Professors of Logic. This video was filmed at The Phoenix in Edinburgh, during the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. All the songs in the show are originals by me, on the subject of growing old. I'm a late developer, starting singing and song-writing at the age of 58, as part of a journey of healing, following the sudden death of my husband and 22 year-old son in the same year. All of my songs are a bit wacky and are written from the safe vantage point of the over-60s. The genre could be described as "post-menopausal-post-folk", and I have been called "the Beryl Cooke of song-writing" with two successful Fringe shows under my belt.
The band consists of a group of friends with various musical backgrounds, who met at pub sessions and through playing in other bands. Look us up on Facebook as well as You Tube!

Today's Video Share: To The One by Jan Shaw

After a decades-long hiatus, a simple sound & lyric launched a new era of writing. Jan's style is soul-searching, truth-telling, wispy mezzo soprano/alto vocal, guitar & piano. While bringing back some timeless favorites from eras of school days and college duos, Jan is writing new songs of spiritual and social consciousness.

"To The One" is a tribute song to the victims affected by some of our country's mass tragedies. It is in honor of those who were lost, who survived, and who responded. Most of all, it is of hope that we can find a way to change this trend. It is one way of saying, we'll never forget, let's make it right.

Today's Video Share: No Air by Carole Berger

This was a slowly born song - taking it's time to unfold, growing through processes to become beautifully - although it serves a shadow topic in society. It's a very personal and precious piece of music I wrote, people asked me to share.

I've been recording it at my self built home studio while my Artist Residency close to Melbourne, Australia. And had the chance to collaborate with fantastic people like Jeffery Buckland underlining the music with his warm play on the double bass and the fabulous filmmaker Miguel Rios, based in Melbourne. I'm deeply impressed by the beautiful outcome of the video, which represents the song's moody ambience just perfectly in melting together a stunning variety of light reflections and colours with the love to details.
By this chance I also would like to mention talented Tomas Strode from Rolling Stock Recording Rooms in Collingwood, Melbourne who added his brilliant touch in mixing and mastering the recording. Thanks for listening and your support in spreading my music, if you enjoy what you hear and see!

Today's Video Share: Everyday Happiness by Every Lovely Thing

Every Lovely Thing is a songwriting duo whose sound usually falls into an ambient dream pop genre. Today's Video Share: Swept Away by Malea McGuinness

Malea’s eclectic background explains a lot. Her talent, drive, and love of music have taken her all over the musical spectrum: part opera songstress, part singer-songwriter, part pop musician, part EDM sensation.

Born in Texas, Malea is the daughter of an Irish Green Beret father and a Korean mother. At the age of 5, she was sent to live with her grandparents in Long Island, New York. After attending rigorous music programs, Malea pursued singing opera professionally at the Manhattan School of Music. Eventually the years of hard work paid off and landed her in a featured role in the Broadway revival of "The King and I".

Malea toured for years supporting acts as diverse as Train, Kenny Loggins, Shawn Colvin, Augustana, and Gavin DeGraw. Her songs soon crossed over into EDM, the result being a #1 hit on Billboard’s Club Dance chart with “One Hot Mess”. Another track, “Give”, peaked at #14 and stayed on the chart for ten weeks. A series of releases soon followed that managed to combine solid personal songwriting and lush production style: “You’ll Never Fix My Heart”, “Spaceships Fly,” “Earth Angel”, “Come To Me” and “You Are Loved”.
