Today's Video Share: "El Viento" by Cecilia Villar Eljuri

“El Viento” (The Wind), establishes a direct connection with the artist, Eljuri, self proclaimed as a ‘Latin from Manhattan’. This romantic bolero filled with Latin American melancholy recalls great ballroom dancing and Caribbean sensuality. Doing homage to the traditional Latin rhythms and harmonics she grew up with the lead guitar used on the solo of this song is one of Eljuri’s own invention, an electric tres, custom built for her by her personal luthier.

Touted as one of the top Latina electric guitar players in the world, Eljuri navigates through musical landscapes ranging from rock and pop-punk, to bolero, reggae, and Afro-Cuban rhythms, all presented with an elegant and socially conscious female voice.
