This song was written 3 decades ago while I was living alone on the ground floor apartment. I ordered pizza and the delivery man kept my number, took note of my address, and proceeded to stalk me. I never recorded it until March of 2023. The song is still relevant as the pizza stalker is a foggy old memory, over the years, the song has become an anthem for various antagonists. It is about self-preservation.
While the song is served up with a whimsical & cheeky vibe.... the incident that birthed Call The Police terrified me. Situations & circumstances that followed through the years... a handful of abusers from overbearing gaslighters to “call security” restraining order moments...
