Wings - I have a soft spot in my heart for all the friends and families of loved ones that struggle with addiction. The worry sometimes turns into anxiety or depression and can be overwhelming. I hope my song inspires you to give yourself permission to be happy. Although the journeys are intertwined we only get to control our own and happiness is a choice (albeit sometimes a challenging one to make)
Enjoy, Gail

Today's Video Share: "Dueños del Terror" by Florencia Andrada

"I wrote this song during the 2020 strict quarantine. It’s called ‘Dueños del Terror’or ‘Owners of Terror.” Here in Buenos Aires some of the richest people started to complain about the restrictions. The song talks about how even in the darkest times some people are unable to put themselves in someone else’s shoes, to have some empathy. Teachers, doctors, the homeless, the people that live in the poorest neighborhoods where the most affected as always but the ones complaining were the rich ones, that always blame the poorest for all the problems in the world while they continue stacking their millions.

“I’m a little bit angry and disappointed as I sing the song,” she adds. “It’s a very special song for me because it’s the last one I recorded with my dearest friend and sound engineer Ariel Feder who died in April 2021 due to Covid-19, so this adds an additional meaning to the song.”

Today's Video Share: "King Me" by Sha'Leah Nikole

Hailing from South Central, Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Sha’Leah Nikole is no longer allowing societal structures and guidelines to dictate how the R&B songstress views herself. The artist reflects on the importance of recognizing the power and confidence that comes from walking in your purpose in her latest single “King Me,” out now. This deeply personal track was a collaboration effort alongside Inglewood native rapper D Smoke, the inaugural winner of Netflix’s music competition show, Rhythm & Flow. Recognizing the royalty within us all, “King Me,” the soulful R&B track hopes to empower and encourage listeners all over the world.

Today's Video Share: "Perfect for Me" (Mother's Day Song) by Kristine Cox

Music has always been a big part of my life. I was trained classically, performed lead roles in many operas while in college, then went on to become a vocal coach, a music director and play leading roles in musical theater. 5 years ago, I began writing more music. My music has been described as inspirational with classic vocals and a bit of a spiritual vibe.

I wrote this song because we often compare our worst to everyone else at their best. The truth is, there is no such thing as the perfect woman or the perfect mother, so perhaps we need to change our perspective.

I hope that this song will help us to celebrate womanhood and motherhood in a different way. I want women everywhere to understand that, while we are not perfect, we are perfectly suited to influence those who are placed in our path! God knows what He is doing. We are the mother, step-mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, neighbor, teacher and/or friend that we are for a reason! Women have an amazing, innate gift to lead, lift, nurture and love those around them. And that, my dear friends, is something to celebrate!

Today's Video Share: "Love Him Forever" by Deanne Matley

Perfect for Mother's Day Celebration!

Love Him Forever, an original was inspired by Deanne’s experiences as an in-demand wedding performer and her realization that there are plenty of songs to choose from when it comes to Father-Daughter dances, but few that highlight the special relationship between Mother and Son.

This emotional piece, co-written with Jon Day, is broken down into three elements – a mother’s internal conversation with her soon to be daughter-in-law, her self-reflection on how much her son means to her, and finally, a conversation with her son to remind him of all the things she has taught him about the meaning of love.
The perfect mother-son dance song! One that has now been played and performed at multiple weddings worldwide, each time bringing the room to tears.

Canadian vocalist Deanne Matley has many superpowers. Trained as a jazz vocalist, she brings a sensual style, a stunning emotional range, and a deep connection with her audience to everything she sings. She’s made a name for herself across Canada and beyond with her dynamic, knock ‘em dead performances with combos of all sizes and singles and albums ranging from standards to pop to Christmas favourites.

Today's Video Share: "Revelation Ground" by Rachael Sage

"Revelation Ground" marks a turning point in Sage's songwriting and production, merging her lifelong reverence for '60's-era folk – a la Leonard Cohen, Pete Seeger and Simon & Garfunkel – with a weathered, hard-won perspective on the sacredness of time itself. Amidst the landscape of the pandemic, racial protest, the loss of far too many loved ones and her own cancer experience, Sage distills bright hope and beauty from perhaps her most universal lyrics yet. With a hum-along melody that sounds like it has existed forever, her voice achieves an intimate poignancy underscored by longtime collaborator Dave Eggar's rhapsodic cello playing. The video was created by Antje Duvekot, who has a 2-decade long career as both a touring singer-songwriter and animator, and who has garnered critical acclaim from the animated videos she recently made for Toad The Wet Sprocket, Dar Williams, Eliot Bronson & Lori McKenna, and Eliza Gilkyson.
