"Trust" illustrates someone experiencing feelings of doubt becoming inspired and and empowered by someone else leading the way; 'it was inspired during a time when many women were sharing their stories of bravery against all odds on our screens. Today's Video Share: "Lazy Daze" by Michele Osten

“This video was pieced together by my partner Nic Gibbons in 2019 as a trial/sample video for the original tune Lazy Daze written by Clive Knapp. Initially written and performed with an Americana feel and later adapted by me, as a swinging jazz number. A good friend and songwriter, Denise Dimin, suggested I try and submit a little something to WOSR, very much hoping it fits your criteria. About me, Michele Osten born in Seattle a very long time ago now resides in London. Took up jazz rather late in life and has since played at some pretty high profile venues and festivals, Verdi Kitchen at The Royal Albert Hall, Pizza Express Chelsea in London, The Bulls Head in Barnes London, The Half Moon in Putney London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival amongst other pubs, restaurants, street parties, and private functions.”

REFUGE is a young band from Kenya - fronted by a powerhouse 13-year old female singer. The band is made up of kids from 6 countries and four continents, ages 13 to 16. While their journey started halfway around the world, musically they are greatly influenced by ‘70s classic rock, funk and reggae, and the legacy of great, live rock music.

The band's name, REFUGE, represents what they are all about: an escape from the inauthentic music of our times; it also acknowledges their origins as “development kids” and their drive for social consciousness.

Formed in 2016, the band debuted publicly in 2018 and has quickly excelled to become the #1 rock band in Kenya, where they've received a lot of press. In August 2019, REFUGE played its first international gig at the Bautz Music Festival in Germany.
