Today's Video Share: "Kicker" by Kaya Hoax

My name is Kaya Hoax and I am a singer, songwriter and producer from Montreal, Canada. I write/compose/produce avant-pop/drum n' bass music. My lyrics are very political and feminist, just like the team surrounding me. I wrote and produced Kicker following the wave of sexual assault denunciation that took place in Montreal last spring. Even though it tackles a sensitive topic, the song is upbeat and my delivery is quite energetic! A music video for Kicker is now available on YouTube, in which many local Montreal artists working in various fields appear. The video is co-directed by the visual artist Awa Banmana and myself, it is very colorful and vibrant. Thanks for watching!

Today's Video Share: "Patron Saint" by The Black Mariah Theater

The Black Mariah Theater follows the smoke of the last cigarette lit to a trail of old love letters, looking for their Patron Saint in their newest video release. The visual takes on a Spy vs Spy attitude and a film noir look that fits the tone and feel of their track "Patron Saint".

Twin sisters Analiese and Sophia make up the Kansas City, MO based band, The Black Mariah Theater; a rock duo with blues infused guitar riffs and gut-wrenching lyrics. Their night-studded rock n roll gives a voice to the broken-hearted, angsty, and unattached.

HunnyB is a Canadian singer and songwriter whose love for music started at a very young age. She hopes to inspire people with her music; making honest music that stems from her own life, and hopefully resonates with others. ONE LIFE embodies two messages. The video was shot in London UK, where HunnyB currently resides. ONE LIFE was BBC Introducing's track of the day.

HunnyB first graced the stage singing backup for Shania Twain at 16 years old. Now an artist herself, she loves cultural sounds and fuses her pop vocals with sounds of the world.

Today's Video Share: "Heart Beats" by Collars

Cambridgeshire's up-and-coming indie duo Collars released their debut single on Friday 27 November. Previously available as a demo only, ‘Heart Beats’ is an energetic, pop-fuelled confession of lost loves, weaving guitar-led indie rhythms with a vocal reminscent of Florence Welch. The pair have also released a video for the track – a neon-dappled fit of nostalgia that was recorded entirely at home by the band, over three days during the UK's first lockdown, and they went through three projectors in the process…

Today's Video Share: "Happiness" by Ed and Carol Nicodemi

Ed and Carol Nicodemi are a vocal and guitar, (sometimes piano) duo who live in NYC. With lyrics penned by Dori Brink, and music written by the duo, "Happiness" is a pure tribute to the joy of love. A song with which to propose marriage. A song to walk-down-the-aisle to. A song of the most romantic sort. And the video echoes that so beautifully. In fact, get your tissues ready, because you will need them, as Ed and Carol did, when they first saw what their videographer, Joe Orecchio, had created with regard to this gorgeous original. Today's Video Share: "Floxed Cipro" by Levi Perry

All my life, I had the dream of being a successful artist. Nothing’s changed other than life has meant I’m still fighting for my dream but much older now. I have always believed it should be out there. I came back to my music after being floxed. It was like coming out of a coma. I teamed up with John from One Mind Music in New York who is a Grammy-nominated artist. We co-mixed my album, “The Power of Music”, which had sat there for the best part of the decade. Brought it into 2019 and then co-mixed and produced a brand new album, “Warrior”, which has just been released on all digital platforms. I’ve won countless awards for both. “Should Have Been You” put forth for a Grammy but didn’t get chosen, and part of my song, “Never Felt Like This Before” is in a newly released film, “The Tales of Strango The Clown”. Sometimes my life feels like a film playing out. Just as I was just about to help promote the film release and my song the guys spirit was so broken where the film got leaked, he shot himself. Thank God he has survived. I’m going to fight for my dream for a bit longer.

Today's Video Share: "I Believe We Will Win" by Valerie Orth

"Valerie Orth inspires listeners to shake off self-doubt and detractors so that they can take control of their lives and relationships... Musically, these songs move with the same kind of energy and thoughtfulness that radiates from Orth." (Consequence of Sound) Amidst the madness of 2020, when nothing is certain and we all struggle to find hope for the future, we need artists like art-pop songwriter/guitarist/producer Valerie Orth. For years she’s been writing songs inspired by challenges we’re all up against, both political and personal, and her latest single, “I Believe We Will Win” could not be more timely. Orth writes with a strong sense of self and a fierce feminist perspective, telling stories about alienated humanity and visions of a better tomorrow. Orth says “I Believe” is meant to “give hope that if we continue to make our voices heard, justice and change will come.” On this driving new single, there is not only a collage of genres (a trademark of Orth’s upcoming album), from hip hop to folk, there are also voices from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, honing in on the message that while we’re protesting locally, we’re in this together globally.

Today's Video Share: "Inappropriate" by Feline & Strange

This song is by Feline & Strange: a Berlin based Electro Wave Cabaret band around Feline Lang - a trained opera singer and former opera director, tango dancer, actress and alien.

This video was inspired by the Berlin queer and burlesque scene and shot just two weeks before the first lock down in Berlin. It is a coincidence (or in retrospect you could say it was a prophecy?) that the bad guys in the video are wearing face masks and are crashing 'The Last Party On Earth'.

Today's Video Share: "Everything I Needed" by Lauren St. James

Lauren St James is a British Pop Singer, Songwriter and Producer offering up fun, sassy and empowering songs that promise to get anyone out of a bad mood. 'Everything I Needed' is Lauren's 5th single and is an upbeat, feisty song about thinking that you've found the perfect match, but it turns out to be the complete opposite. It features South African rapper Prblm who met Lauren St James on the 2019 Nandos Music Exchange, and blends both a male and female perspective on the subject of failed relationships. This video was directed and edited by Lauren herself and was created on a shoestring budget, which makes the footage all the more impressive. It was filmed in the beautiful countryside of Somerset, UK including Dunster Beach and Church of St Etheldreda in St Audries Bay, while the rapper's footage was filmed in his local area in South Africa - an exciting global collaboration created in the midst of the difficult COVID situation. This is the 2nd video of Lauren's which uses her gorgeous Golden Retrievers, this time as groomsmen, and makes the video all the more cute. Lauren managed to source the whole bridal outfit for less than £50, including the sweet doggie bow ties, and has really achieved a lot on a little budget - a true sign of a woman's endless resourcefulness.
